NATURE OF WORK:
The Parking Facilities Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for the operational and administrative supervision of City of Orlando owned and operated parking facilities and surface lots. Coordinates parking for events at the Amway Center and other various downtown Venues. They will train staff, ensure appropriate daily staffing levels are met, and assists with special parking projects. In addition, they will respond to service calls and maintain data, reports, schedules, and other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Parking Facilities Supervisor and is reviewed for results obtained through reports and conferences.
Involves performing duties under adverse conditions such as exposure to exhaust fumes, working in confined area, exposure to all weather conditions and insects, and standing/walking for extended periods of time. Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedule and division needs.
WORK SCHEDULE: Varies to include weekends, holidays, evenings and overnights based on division needs and event schedule.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Degree, plus six (6) months of experience working the in parking, transportation, hospitality, operations, customer service, public service, or event coordination (public or private) required; o r an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. S ome supervisory experience in a service industry preferred. Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification preferred or must obtain within 90 days of being hired (with coordination and at the City's expense). Must pass polygraph examination. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout multiple garages
- Must be able to visually inspect garage and physically access all areas in all types of weather
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills, as required to balance cash receipts
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare logs and reports
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.
