Job Description and Duties

Patton State Hospital Human Resources is accepting applications for multiple Permanent, Part Time Food Service Technician I positions. The vacancies exist in the Nutrition Services Department, under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisor I.

The Food Service Technician I responsibilities are to serve or assist with the preparation of food and beverages; to clean and maintain food service equipment, utensils and work areas as required; to assist in maintaining safety, sanitation, and infection control standards at appropriate level; to have the ability to portion servings, follow directions, keep simple records, read and write at a level appropriate to the classification; to instruct and to work with helpers from the patient population.

Working Conditions

Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.

Masking in Health Care Settings and Patient Care Areas:

Effective April 3, staff working in administrative or non-treatment areas where there is no patient contact, are not required, but are still encouraged, to wear a mask.

Employees that access patient care areas and where team members may encounter patients within 6 feet indoors or outdoors are required to wear masks.
