PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $4,170.00 per month to $5,857.00 per month.

About the Position

This position is temporary through June 30, 2024, with the possibility of reappointment.

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities Management and Operations and direction of the Campus Locksmith, the Facilities Access Analyst works to ensure the physical security of our campus community of employees, students and patrons by programming to grant approved access and/or remove access.

Responsibilities

Card Access:

  • Process requests for card access and modifications; monitors, tracks, and evaluates card access activity.
  • Process schedules for business hours, holidays and events.
  • Remove access rights based on one's separation.
  • Work with the Colleges, and University departments at the beginning of each semester to plan and process access for faculty, students and research assistants.

Customer Support:

  • Assist in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving issues with access control software by working with vendors and internal departments to update and escalate issues as needed.
  • Identify issues and respond to outages, equipment failures, breakages, etc.
  • Under the direction of the campus locksmith, work with staff and service vendors to determine and implement solutions.
  • Provide reports and investigate as needed.

Access Compliance:

  • Conduct user access privileges to determine if they are correct and adhere to the University's policies and compliance requirements.

Access & Key Audits and Reporting:

  • Assist departments with periodic and annual key audits.
  • Perform analysis of work requests and provide reports with recommendations to improve services.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • General knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.
  • A Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge Of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Security camera systems and operations.

Skills In:

  • Project coordination.
  • Problem identification and problem solving.
  • Interpreting and applying policies, procedures and standards.
  • Prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.

Ability To:

  • Assess security risks associated with space.
  • Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality of information.
  • Work independently and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to needed changes.
  • Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • Follow protocols and escalate as needed.
  • Effectively prioritize work requests.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships.
  • Ability to work in an ethnically and culturally diverse background.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • A Bachelor's in Computer Science or related degree.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, customer service skills and personnel management.

Condition(s) of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment. Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.

All background checks are conducted through the university's third party vendor, Accurate. LiveScan is conducted through the University Police Department.
